I too lost a cat to mammory cancer. She went into heat very young, ended up with a uterine infection, she was then spayed to save her life. Six years later she developed a lump on her breast. We had it removed but she died about a year later. The cancer came back very fast. She did not get another lump in her breast, but she developed bone cancer. It hit fast and hard. This was many years ago when they did not do early spay. Back in the 80's. It was terrible to see her in so much pain, she cried when you tried to move her. From the time she was diagnosed to the time we had to put her to sleep was only about four days. I would have put her down when we first found out, but I was only 15 and wanted a few more days with her. One day she seemed fine the next she was in terrible pain. I hope someone learns from this because I would not want to see another cat suffer.
