Bless you. I just can't imagine how devasted you must be.

As for the virus, I've heard several differing things about it. It is actually a mutation of the corona virus which in itself is relatively benign. Your best bet at this point would be to clean as much as possible with a bleach/water solution or a disinfectant and wash clothing, bedding, etc. in your washer using the hottest water possible.

Contact your vet about your concerns about the virus lingering. He/she can give you further directions as to how to get a safe environment for your other cat.
