>>My vet recommended using a plaque control treat for my cat (despite my handle, I also own a cat). I got her pounce tartar treats, and she seems to like them. The vet said it would help keep her teeth healthy. I didn't realize this was an issue for cats. ANybody else use some type of tartar control food or treat?

Several types of cat food offer a dental health type. I use the Pounce treats for my cats. So far those are the only cat treats they have ever liked. Make sure they are a supplement and not a major part of their diet. You didn't mention how old your cat is... if it is fairly young you can also consider brushing her teeth. There are finger brushes and feline toothpastes out there, but a damp gauze square will sometimes suffice. Good dental hygene can help prevent kidney and liver problems in cats which can be caused by gingivitis or other dental problems.
