The only reason we had him shaved is because he wouldn't let us brush him, and he would get really bad mats. So once a year my mom would bring him to the vet. He loved it. Would roll over onto his back and stick his legs up so they could get it all. Then he would prance all over the house. He thought he was so handsome shaved.
