It is not always required, and it may depend on if your kitten is an indoor kitten. Please research the rabies vaccine, as well. I just had my newly rescued kitten vaccinated for rabies on 3/26 and now he has a lump at the injection site and a larger lump below the inj site in the fleshy part of his back right leg. Going online I just found out about this vaccine (and some others) cause reactions and sometimes cancer in those that react to the vaccine. Please be informed. I'm on pins and needles thinking my sweet little one may have cancer because of my unknowing choice. My other cats have never had a reaction.
