Okay, I see this forum hasn't been used in a while, I hope someone finds this post anyways... I'm not familiar with the weaning process, or how long it takes... or how I will know if they are FULLY weaned... I know that she'll start denying them food little by little until they no longer nurse off of her, and I know it's hard sometimes for cats to wean their litters. My cat enjoys the nursing so much that I hope she doesn't draw it out with them, I need to get her fixed!!!
The kittens are three weeks old today, and I know I have about three more weeks until she starts to wean them (providing she does). How long does weaning usually take? Can I spay her when they are mostly weaned, or do I have to wait until they are fully weaned? How will I know when they are, and not still nursing in the middle of the night, or when I'm not in the room?
