I am hoping that someone here can help me...I just don't know what to do. My husband and I found three kittens in a shoe box yesturday evening, and ofcourse brought them home.
The poor things are no more than 3 days old as they still have their umbilical cords attatched. They are so small and helpless.
We have been doing everything we are supposed to as far as keeping them and their bedding clean, warm and humid, also holding them to our bodies and helping them poo and pee.
The problem that I have is that we are living in Yugoslavia and I do not have access to any kitten formula nor do I know where to get goats milk here.
I have been giving them the formula for which I found a recepy online with cow's milk and egg yolks and oil but everywhere I look it says this should only be used in emergencies and is not good food for the babies.
Do you think maybe substituting the milk with human infant formula would be better? I just don't know what to do, I don't want to feed them the wrong thing and have them die. But I don't know what else to give them. Please help me save these little guys. (don't worry I have made an appointment with the vet for tomorrow--so we'll see what he says too) but if you have any ideas please let me know.
