thanks for all responses -

if all the cat tests incl. heartworm, lungworm, xray, are ok but the white lung cell from the lung wash shows a high concentration suggesting asthma, could the diagnosis still be lungworm ? If, for eg. the cat is totally active, oblivious except for an expectorant cough. Can lungworm sometimes not show up in the stool sample ? can a stool sample be too 'old' to show accurately?

The cough is once or ttwice a day and often after sleeping soundly, next to other cat - could there be a pollen, dust, dander allergy?

has anyone used an elimination diet to find a protein allergy? he has been eating beef for months.

Thanks !
