I can beat your first heat story. At least your daughter told you what it was. I, on the other hand had no clue. Bought my first kitten at a pet store. A little white and tiger that I named Misty and I adored. Only 6 weeks old and cute as a button. Destructive little devil, but so cute. My hubby and I had always had dogs, I knew nothing about cats except they were cute and fit in an apartment very well. I was staying about an hour from my spouse in an apartment while I furthered my education and went home only on weekend. I was lonely and my german shepard lasted a week in the apartment before I had to take her home. So a cat it was. Well, about 5 months later, I came home to my baby rolling on the floor and crying. I was worried sick, sure she was dying of something. Rushed her to the Vet where after laughing her head off, she informed me that my baby was a "woman now". I thought surgery? On my kitten?? Not gonna happen, at least not yet. So I took her home. A few days later, now keep in mind that I went to school full time and worked evenings so I was curled in my bed with my window up and heard not one cat crying but two. Opened my eyes to Misty on the inside of the screen wailing and a big wannabe rapist male cat on the other side screaming too. That did it, off went the "baby" to get spayed!!!!
