I have a female cat named Buttercup, she's approximately 9 months old now. about two weeks before the beginning of February, she started in heat. It was new to me but I quickly figured it out. February 2 I moved. About a week into my new place, she started again!! I was told by a co-worker who says she has cats that they will do this twice a year until they get fixed. A few days go by with all the moaning/rolling around/butt in air and all is quiet for a few days. Then she started again!!!! Lasted close to a week, this time she attracked all kinds of cats in the neighborhood hanging around on my porch. About maybe a week ago she quieted down, and just now, she's starting to roll around again and keeps meowing (I know she not hungry, I just fed her). One thing i will say is that i was standing in the open doorway talking to a neighbor and she darted out the door (she never passes the doorway), and I think perhaps she got a sniff of some of the males that had been around lately (still smelling their scent?). She came back in and meowed for like 10 minutes straight until I ended up just screaming!

Is it normal to be going into heat every other week? This is going to drive me insane!!! And yes I plan to get her fixed, I'm just on a very VERY limited budget to get it done
