I agree with the deworming. One of the most common signs of roundworm is animals is a prominant pot belly when the animal was not actually fat. That's how I knew my kitten, Shelby had worms when i first got her because she had this HUGE potbelly but I could still very easily palpate her ribs and her hips stuck out a lot. She also had a nice case of coccidia and rhinotracheitis which probably didn't help. And since i had a hard time getting her to eat for a few days I kinda guessed that's also why she was significantly underweight. She looked like a 4 week old kitten rather than an 8 week that she was. Now she's over 12 weeks old and almost as big as my fiance's kitty.
