Hi,

What I would do is feed canned food twice a day, 1/2 can for each cat per meal, and give them only a limited amount of dry food. Cats that are free-fed dry food are often overweight because of all the carbs in the food.

Canned food is best because it contains much more protein, which is more natural for cats. Some of the cheaper brands still contain a lot of carbs so it's best to read the labels and get the best quality you can afford. Look for real meat as the first ingredient.

Regards,
PHKitkat
