I adopted a kitten about 4/5 months ago because I live alone, and I have a lot of friends but I get really lonely. I adopted Willow. She was the best friend I have ever had. She waited by the door for me to get home from school every day and every time I was away. My little 7 month old baby girl kitten started having a little bit of breathing trouble on Wednesday. I figured it was probably nothing, but being the worried mother I am, I took her to the vet Friday afternoon. There was a barrage of tests and x-rays and eventually it was decided that she had wet FIP and we had to put her down this morning. She died in my arms, and I am absolutely devastated. I keep walking around and looking for her out of habit and every time I walk in the door I am devastated all over again when I realize she won't be there. I would like to know how some of you are coping because I don't know what to do with myself. I haven't really stopped crying since the vet told me the diagnosis last night, and now that she is gone it's so much worse. And every time it crosses my mind to get another kitten, it kills me because i'll never wake up to Willow again, and she'll never follow me into the kitchen or the bathroom. And no matter what I do, no other cat could measure up to her. I just really need some tips on how to deal with the grief because I feel like there is a huge hole inside of me and I don't know what to do.
