Last year, one of my cats, now 11, started having bloody stool. After a bunch of blood tests and a hefty vet bill, I was told it was probably a food allergy. The vet prescribed some food from a company called IVD that was made from duck and green peas, therefore insuring he was getting completely different proteins from what he had been eating. Well great, but both of my cats hate the food and have been starving themselves. I've been able to get them to eat the can OK, but not much dry, and since I travel during the week, can food alone just doesn't work. I tried the rabbit and green peas food, which they liked a little better, but after awhile, he started having problems with that. I've been sticking with the duck only so his diet isn't changing all the time, and now he's starting to have problems with that. I have some venison and green peas dry food, but I can't get him to eat it.

Has anyone ever heard of anything like this? He can't be continuing to develop allergies to every protein out there. Could this be something else? I've consulted a couple of different vets and none of them can come up with anything else. Please help! I don't know what else to do. The poor cat is getting very thin and I'm getting very concerned. These cats are practically my only family and I hate seeing either one in discomfort. Thanks for any ideas anyone has!
