Probably this is a combination of behavioral (stress) and illness problems. It is conceivable that your cat somehow has associated the taste of the prescription cat food with feeling sick and/or being defeated by the other cat.

If your prescription cat food comes in a canned formula, this would be a good solution. More and more vets are coming to the conclusion that canned food is better for cats anyhow.

Otherwise, don't let him eat the dogfood, but do give him the canned catfood he likes mixed with the prescription food. Little by little increase the ratio of the prescription food to the canned until he is back totally on the food he should be eating.

Smile, it will make them wonder what you are up to!
