Has Maggie been examined by a vet? This should be your first thing to do. I am amazed that she could survive on so little food. Five pounds is also very tiny for an adult cat, although some small-framed cats don't weigh a lot more than that.

Maggie may have a food allergy. You might want to talk to the vet about special food for her.

Best wishes to Maggie. Let us know what the vet says.
