Since all checked out, perhaps you should take a close look at whether or not the cat has a good energy level, coat and bright eyes. Is he losing weight? Does he look underweight? If he seems to be functioning well and is eating, although not a lot then he may just be going through a normal phase. If he seems to have any other problems or is getting skinny then further testing should be done. Perhaps he has a food allergy and needs a special food.
