Hi,

I hope that by now you have taken your cat to the vet. She is a senior and is prone to several medical problems that may cause her appetite to fail. Besides the fact that once a cat stops eating he or she may develop a very serious, and sometimes fatal, liver condition.

The key is really to find out why the cat stopped eating in the first place, and to treat the underlying problem. Force feeding may be helpful but most likely your cat will need some kind of treatment in addition. Remember that most health problems are treatable, especially when diagnosed in the early stages.

Please update us when you can.

AshleyElla
