Am neW to this forum ...have a 21 yr old kitty, "Yoda" who just this past week started going downhill---bad, watery diarrhea and lack of appetite---took her to vet(whom I just adore) and got her on flagyl,(which is a boger to give-she hates it and I'm scared I'm going to give her a heart attack!!)also gave me injectable Naxcel because she had a bit of pneumonia---lungs much better now and so is diarrhea(thin pudding rather than water) but her appetite is now totally gone-have tried all types of things--she does drink lots and lotsssss of water which is making me suspect either kidney or thyroid problems.The strangest thing tho' is now she is insisting on going outside and she never really has been an outside cat(her choice--she's skittish)--she isn't sleeping much and practically runs to the door whenever someone goes out---Am thinking she's wanting out to "go off" by herself to die--but she doesn't really seem near death(IE is still going up and down the stairs,seeking people, mewing, DRINKING lots H2O)--am wondering if the meds might be having an adverse effect on her--will go back to the vet once daylight comes but am so worried right now & just had to vent--scared that it might be time to let go and am getting so scared and sad--today is my birthday-would hate to lose her at any time but today would just be really bad--thanks for listening and will let all know what happens
