Fact-Dry food leads to kidney problems.Your cat may be able to not digest the grains in dry food properly thereforr resulting in his having to vomit.I am shocked you let this go on for so many years.Whyis anyone getting annoyed with him, instead he should be annoyed with you for letting this continue.Please search the internet for an ultra premium(key words) non-grain based food. I would also suggest swithching to soft food(fancy feast seems to be a favourite of most cats).Another fact-all dry foods regardless of quality lead to kidney failure in most cases, not all for unknown reasons.Think of the dry food going through the cats system like a sponge absorbing moisture; the animal cannot dring enough water to compensate for this moisture loss therefore causing the kidneys to work harder & inevitably leading to kidney failure.Hyperthyroidism also shows symptoms of vomiting but as your cat has been doing this for years it is most likely that he cannot digest the grains.Keep us posted and do switch his food.
