I would say that very likely it is the anal glads giving problems. Cats can have this trouble too! So get her to the vet.

She will probably come around after a while in the larger room. Let her hide and try not to have any eye contact with her. Read or watch tv. Occasionally throw a treat in her direction. Don't look at her when she retrives it though. Do this for about 30 minutes a night and I'll bet she'll be bugging you. Do continue the "bonding" sessions in the bathroom since that is where she seems to be comfortable right now.
