Sneezing can indeed be the result of allergy or often a foreign object such as dust or grass in the nose. Sometimes it just has no known cause and will stop on its own, although it should be checked by a vet even if the cat seems healthy otherwise.

I am no expert on the dessert climate, although I grew up in one, however in my experience here I tend to "clog up" more in moist weather, so it could be the increase in humidity. Also I do know that a little bit of rain really wakes up those "sleeping" plants who take advantage of the moisture to "multiply" which results in lots of pollen in a very short time!

Bottom line - a vet visit is necessary at this point, although nothing much may be found. Your cat may be put on a decongestant to help him through the rainy season.
