First, let me tell you how sorry I am about your loss.
I wouldn't worry about the vaccine issue. Immunity doesn't "wear off" like that. Immunity to viruses is normally lifelong, although bacterial immunity is not permanent. The entire issue of "booster shots" is undergoing a total revision these days, and the idea of having to give shots every year is going the way of the 8 track tape. Assuming this cat had formed immunity in the past from vaccines or natural expsosure, I wouldn't worry about viruses at all.
GI bleeding can be caused by a number of things - lymphoma, ulcers, inflammatory bowel disease, infectious disease for which there is no vaccine, such as hemobartonella (transmitted by fleas), immune disease such as lupus, adenocarcinoma or mast cell tumors, pesticide exposure, poisoning or toxins, trauma, amebiasis, and probably quite a few others, including food allergy. ----- Christie Keith Caber Feidh Scottish Deerhounds Holistic Husbandry since 1986 Meet the Felines!
