This is going to sound a bit strange I think...but I can't figure out if my kitten has a problem or not. A few days ago I noticed she had begun to kinda lick the insides of her mouth...it sounds sorta like sandpaper. I hadn't ever noticed this in her before.

so I've been watching her. She does seem to be walking to her dish, nosing around the food and not eating...but I'm not sure if she is eating behind my back. Same for water.
My Husband said he seen her eat this morning when he fed the cats but didn't know I was watching her so when I asked if he felt she had handled the food carefully (as if maybe her mouth was sore) he said he really hadn't known to look so didn't notice.

Does any of this sound familiar to any of you? She is a 7 month old spayed female tabby mutt who has a "sister" the same age...that cat seems fine. She's otherwise perky and playful...but she is a very thin kitten and I don't want to let this go if it may be something...OTOH maybe she just learned a new trick with her mouth?????

thanks for any help.
Deb
