Her granuloma under her tongue has been down for some time now thanks to the pred she is on....but she had an area that was appx the size of a grape that appeared chewed because it was hanging over her side teeth. We were assuming it was an area of infection but she had been on two different antibiotics w/o it clearing up. The vet was hoping it would go down so he could go back in there and clean the area out. He still suspects she has a foreign object imbedded in her mouth that is setting off the infection that is in turn setting off the granuloma.
Well last week I noticed a bit of a rotten smell coming from her mouth so the vet put her on a different antibiotic.
Her mouth is looking WONDERFUL!!!!!!!! There still is a small area of swelling...maybe the size of a large pea now. This is what the vet wanted....he said he didn't want to do any surgery till we got it reduced so that it would minimize any damage the surgery may do. It's looking really good and she goes to the vet tomorrow evening. Maybe it will be time to get her mouth cleaned up. I am REALLY keeping my fingers crossed that he will get that infection out of there and just maybe her problem will totally go away.
