I would agree with Tilda as well. We had what we thought was a female cat that began doing that (the spca and my vet told me it was a female) Vet gave her antibiotics to clear up her infection. A week later cat in distress - went from peeing all over to not peeing at all. Took it to an emergency vet to find out it was actually a neutered male cat and he had a urinary tract infection and a blockage the size of an orange.

I know mine is a horror story - but I would have him checked out at the vet as soon as possible - a checkup will not only help your cat asap - it is much less costly for a checkup rather than emergency surgery. Males with a uti are in much more danger than females. Let us know!
