Hi,

No cat should be vomiting on a daily basis, although occasional vomiting is considered normal. A young kitten wouldn't have hairballs, but they do have sensitive digestive systems and even just a change in diet can upset them. It's a good idea to get kittens used to being brushed so that they will swallow less hair as they groom, which will lead to fewer hairballs later on. Some people swear by products such as Petromalt to prevent hairballs or "hairball diets". Some food may be too rich and can cause vomiting for that reason. Some cats will gorge themselves until they are sick........there are just so many reasons for a cat to throw up.

If you haven't yet done so, please have your kitten checked by a vet and his vaccines started. I recommend bringing in a stool sample to be tested at the same time, to determine if parasites are present. All kittens, as well as new cats, should be tested for FeLV and FIV as well.

Good luck with this new baby. He is adorable!!

Regards,
AshleyElla
