I want to echo the others in saying that 3-legged cats do fine. My cat, Gracie, lost a front leg at an early age and has no real problems because of it. She may not jump as high as the other cats, but it doesn't prevent her from jumping on the bed or a chair. She still runs up and down the stairs.
