Cats do get bladder stones and there IS something you can do about it, depending on the type of stone. Some stones can be dissolved by changing the diet, others have to be removed by surgery. I would definitely want x-rays, even ultrasound to check. My cat had bladder stone surgery and is now on a special diet, but she has been healthy ever since. If your cat can not urinate, there is definitely something wrong. If your cat is in pain, it is definitely time for a second opinion from another vet.
