Yes, you can use the Lysine found in any pharmacy. Buy the 500mg tablets, and give 1/4 tablet daily twice daily. The tablets crush very easily so I usually mix it with food, rather than just give it orally. The back of a spoon works well as a crusher.

My herpes kitty, Whispurr, does very well on Lysine. I get hers from Walmart because the price is so good
