Posted by: ncat at Thu May 17 20:26:24 2007 [ Report Abuse ] [ Email Message ] [ Show All Posts by ncat ] A coworker recently adopted a kitten. She has 2 dogs and is not experienced with cats. I gave her a book to read on kittens and gave her alot of items, bowls, litterbox, toys etc. She got the kitten yesterday and told me how a brave family member picked the 8 wk old kitten like the mother does by grasping the nape of the neck. I had even showed her how to pick up a kitten . It seems she is afraid of the kitten. She asked me if I ever heard that by feeding a cat moist food this will prevent the cat from killing mice. Apparently there are mice in the home. I was quite upset with her and told her that she should get a mice exterminator and that she should not have taken a kitten to kill mice. I know that I am protective of cats but I find her behavior. Any suggestions?? Then she was considering declawing the kitten but was concerned that it would interfere with the cats ability to catch those mice.
