Hi,

This is really a tough one.....

I think that before you make any decisions about placing this kitty, you should have a full blood panel and urinalysis done. It sounds like she is hiding more, and this can indicate health issues, especially in a senior cat. Plus, if you do place her with your friend, you would want to know her health status.

I personally would not place a senior kitty in a new home, although I do understand it can be a good thing in your case. Cats become very attached to their homes and moving is very stressful on a cat, possibly even more so with an older kitty. If she has health problems, the stress can make them worse.
