A couple of things that might help a little at least would be regular grooming of both cats which helps remove some of the lose hair before it gets ingested, and offering a bit of canned pumpkin for their dining pleasure. Yeah, I know, sounds like something cats would run from in a panic but it really does work and most cats love it. I've also heard a lot of good things about a treat called Greenies. My sister in law has three cats, one of which is long haired which of course gives the other two hair balls...and she swears by them.
