Meows Old Chaps,

My auntie Mary has a kitty who has developed a grooming problem. Here's what Mary says about my cousin Misty:

I have a question about my old lady, Misty. She has gotten so thin and frail and isn't grooming herself very well . She loves to sit or lie on Pete or I, but does not want us to pet her very hard or pick her up much. I used to be able to comb her to get the knots out but now that seems to hurt her too. Any ideas? (Other than those things, she is very happy to come seek us out, she is eating well and drinking well. She is 19.)

Thanks for any input.....

Mary reports that Misty has a clean bill of health from the vet - all her labs are normal including kidneys. Anyone got an idea about how to gently groom Misty?

Purrs,
CV
