Not sure if this is the place to ask, but similar to hospital bills, you need a lawyer to translate all the charges made at an emergency hospital. 3 month old kitten broke her leg (upper fibula, rear) climbing up a high shelf you figured was out of her range, but apparently not.
The bill was just under 3K. What bothers me is no one at the hospital knows how to tranlate the "services and procedures" performed, except the doctors who never are accessible to explain everything. You're standing at the front desk watching a machine spew out an "itemized" bill that requires serious translation into english. I could barely make out the surgical procedure, x-rays, and suturing. Everything else is in a foreign language. The original estimate was almost 5K, the next day it dropped to just under 3K, but all the itemizations were similar. When things happen on a weekend you are severely limited to where you can go in nyc,ny. and are at the mercy of a few specialtist.
They want the cat back in 4 weeks to x-ray the healing procedure, etc. for an add'l $500. Needless to say I'll have it done at low cost clinic if I can find one.
Anyplace on the web to translate this kind of bill? My girl is worth every cent, but it would be nice to understand what the heck was done for her.
