Hey everyone,
Just had to brag about my little Zephy ( or zephania if you wnat to be proper)
He is doing very well ( except the oddity to follow). He has reached all his mile stones early. His canines broke at 3 days, his eyes opened at 7, and today ( his 2 week birthday!) he is at 11 oz. has all his front teeth and is starting to walk. He is also trying to "go" on his own ( not looking forward to those messes) His behavior is also pointing toward a possible early weaning (he chews everything and is very fussy with the bottle, we'll see towards the end of the week).
Now for the oddity. Towards the begining of the week he started shedding, didn't think much of it till I noticed skin showing through. Called the vet who said if he isn't scratching and nothing else seems abnormal, don't worry he'll see him in 2 more weeks when he gets wormed. Well by today his entire back is basically bare except a thin layer of guard hairs. The skin looks healthy and pink, and he doesn't seem bothered by it. So far his legs, paws, tail, belly and head seem uneffected. ( though from the navel down his belly hair is still thin).
I can't find anything in vet journals about hair loss without other symptoms. Well, low testosterone, but I doubt that would effect much yet (who knows, maybe his greatgranddaddy was a sphinx!)
has anyone seen anything like this before?
Thanks ahead for any replys!
