Hello
I have a 6 week old himalayan/persian kitten and she has diarreah with blood. We got her from a private home. The mama cat had died and the owners were trying to find them new homes since they didn't know how to take care of a kitten. The kitten's hind legs and tail are completely drenched in urine and mostly diarreah. The owners did their best w/out the mama cat to clean the kitten up. But since the kitten is so young, the best they could do was wipe the behind with a wet rag. The kitten is a beautiful flame point himalayan, but is sooooo~ dirty and smelly. We tried to wipe the butt area with more water and towels and it has gotten a little bit better, but not much. The kitten is eating and drinking really well, but she won't play much. After her last meal, the kitten pooped on our new carpet. And it's not her fault b/ she had diarreah. When I wiped her butt again with a wet rag, there was blood in the bowel movement. I am going to the vet tomorrow afternoon, but do you think the kitten is really ill? Or do you think she'll be okay? Also, I thought kittens at 6wks are supposed to be litter trained. Thankfully, I don't have any other pets in my home right now so even if the kitten has something, no one will be getting it. Thanks for posting.
