What age is usually best, on average, for letting a kitten out to roam the house all day? I know it probably varies from cat to cat, I was just looking for a general idea. I'd like to let him out of his room about month or so from now. For the moment he's only out when someone's home and awake.
Past friskiness the only thing keeping him in there is the older cat. Usually they are fine together, but occasionally he will pin the kitten down, grabbing him in his mouth and not let go untill I come and break it up.(I don't think he's hurting him any, because once he's off, the kitten goes right back to playing and doesn't seem afraid of him at all).
At the moment the kitten is only about 3 1/2 pounds, so he's no match against a 22 pound cat. Is there a size he should also be before letting him out, considering this?
