Good luck with that baby!
The best thing, of course, would be to find a mama cat who would be willing to surrogate. However, if that can't be done, don't give up hope!
I aquired a premature baby kitten, just a few hours old, who had multiple bite wounds (the rest of the litter was eaten), was very cold and wet, and had never had a meal of mother's milk. She had very little chance for survival. (See my "Darlene" threads below.)
She is now thriving, although still tiny for her age. She is about as healthy as can be, and has pretty much taken over my whole household. She is 11 weeks old now, and full of herself!
There is a lot of good advice, encouragement and resources available through this website.
Of course, there are babies who don't make it. We do our best for them, and feel good knowing that we did. It's just how it is. But the ones that do make all the hard work, sleepless nights and worry well worthwhile!
