I don't think it's the goat's milk that's constipating her. She came to me this way. I raised another one of my cat's on goat's milk and she was fine.

I asked the holistic vet about this constipation. He said to feed her some fatty raw hamburger meat. I also heard a couple of drops of Mineral oil might get her moving better.

The story goes like this. Mama kit gave birth to 3 babes on May 10, 2007. Her first born is HUGE - looks more like an 8-week old kitten. Her second born is much smaller, and doing just fine. THIS kit I'm taking care of is very tiny. I've seen her try to get milk from Mom, but she either walks away or doesn't sit long enough for this poor thing to get any, so I have adopted her as my own.

Today she had about 15ml of goat's milk, that's it. I have her in a cat carrier with a stuffed animal and a warm, comfy bed - even put a small towel in there to wrap her in. She does move around quite well. I put her out on to the living room floor and she's all over the place. She is urinating, but not pooping. She strains while in the cat box. I witnessed a poo coming out while she was straining, but then it went right back in!

I'm afraid for her and want to help her - she's SUCH a SWEET THING! I'm going to try two drops of Mineral Oil in her goat's milk to see if this will produce a poop. If not, I will try the fatty raw hamburger meat. Any other suggestions would be most welcome! I want this kit to SURVIVE!
