This morning when Emily and I came downstairs (Eddie generally sleeps in) I got distracted by something I saw on the front page of the newspaper and--rather than immediately put down fresh water and new dry food--started reading the article.

A couple minutes later I glanced up and there was Emily, sitting very quietly and giving me what had to be the angriest glare that she could muster.

Her message came through loud and clear. I immediately set the paper aside and got busy with her breakfast.

It's amazing how much power one tiny little cat can wield!
