Terry, part of how much they drink depends on what kind of food they're eating. Cats that eat mostly dry kibble need a lot more water than those that eat canned. Canned food will normally supply about 70% of a cat's daily need for water. I give Sadie a fresh bowl at least once a day. I'd say the bowl holds 2 to 2 1/2 cups. Normally, it is down by about 1/3. She gets mostly canned food with a small amount of dry to nibble while I am at work... then a bit more at bedtime.
