Im just planning for my new kitten still but was wondering what is the best type of litter box? If I get an adult and a kitten should I get two boxes? Uncovered little one for the kitten and covered one for the adult? Can they use the same one? Do I need one for each floor of the house?

I had cats growing up but that was a long time ago and then I had a stray as an adult and when he urinated he sprayed the wall so I had to get a covered one for him. I dont know if that was because he was used to being outdoors or if that is the norm.

Thanks!
