We had been to see our kittens twice and were still having a hard time picking names.
I wanted to go with names from similar origins or backgrounds. Ideas I had were Loki & Freya, Finn & Maeve. All those got nixed by my better half. But she wasn't helping with any suggestions.
I had just recently finished reading a book my friend wrote and loved one of the wizards in it, named Rugby Canaan. Couldn't find a female name in the book that fit our little girl AND that we could agree on. We both just knew that Rugby was the right name for our boy.
My partner is a huge SciFi fan, so by default I watch a lot of it, too. Stargate Atlantis has a strong female warrior named Teyla, who is small in frame but can kick major butt when needed. And that perfectly describes our little Tonk Tank Teyla!
On their papers we just used their first names with our last names but if I had to do it over again I'd make them Love Me Love Me Rugby and Love Me NOW Teyla!
