Honestly, to me it seems like just a ploy to make money. Isn't it sad how some vets take advantage of people?
I know this isn't exactly the same thing- but have you noticed how some vets have people put cones on their pets after getting spayed or neutered? Personally I have never had a vet put a cone on any of my pets. In fact, Sina immediately started pulling on her stitches after getting spayed, causing me to call the vet in a panic. He assured me that she could rip out 2 of the 3 stitches, if not all of them, and have no problem because their was a second set inside. So do some vets prescribe the cones just so they can make money off of them?
