I've never tried the fried bull male body parts and don't think that I'd ever want to if the opportunity were to come up.

I remember the Rocky Mountain Oysters were the rage in the late 70s when I was a kid. Anywhere you could get the fried cheese sticks/mushrooms, etc., they were on the menu. It hadn't come up in years, but it came up in conversation within the last couple months w/someone when they mentioned "oysters" but by a different name and we realized they were the same thing -- and he was from a different region of the country -- so it wasn't just a mid-western thing. Fortunately, my Dad let me know delicately early on what they were and I never tried them by accident (because I wouldn't try one with full knowledge of what it was). The oysters are strictly the ah... uh... OK, I'll just say it, fried balls. If you didn't know any better you'd think breaded mushrooms in a basket from the look. I avoided breaded mushrooms back then for quite a while until I knew it was safe to go back into the water without making a mistake.
