As I left, the serious shoppers rolled out. Hundreds of them with backpacks, water, and Outlet Mall Maps in their hands, looking bewildered and confused by the brilliance of it all..

My last job was in the home office of a major retailer - when they went outlet too...holy toledo! The sales numbers were through the roof - figuring the company average of x number of dollars per sale divided by a daily gross average of "ohmigawd!" equals the population of Rhode Island walking through the doors every day. As soon as you mentioned how you're not a big shopper, I started chuckling.
