I keep up on these two authors as well as Patricia Cornwell's "Kay Scarpetta" books...

**********
Not to be knocking on Cornwell's books, but her female characters are so good they are too good - a female cop who can build a fence, knock out the bad guy with a punch, land a boyfriend 10 years her junior and catch a robber while wering heels? (Hornet's Nest) Or Scarpetta working with blood and guts all day solving crimes no one else can only to come home to her tasfully well decorated (and clean!) home and whip up a gourmet meal for 6?

I read 3 of her books in a row once and came away feeling like such a slacker loser by comparsion I haven't read another one since.
