We drink it due to nitrate problems in our local water source. From the start of planting season to about the end of June, we are at risk. And then there are the sewage overruns during heavy spring rains because the sewage and water systems are so old here....and the frequent water line breaks....
It's just this side of town. Before I married, it wasn't an issue, I was on a different reservoir, better maintained pipes.
I never kept it stockpiled until the rolling blackout that affected much of the east several years ago. It was so hot and if my parents didn't already have a couple of cases in the basement, they would of had no water at all.
And there is always a bottle in the diaper bag incase we are stuck someplace where only soda is available. But I'm bending to social stigma - it is so awkward to have a low sugar kid who doesn't eat or even recognize common "kid's meals" as food.
