It use to be you'd grow up and join the adults - since the baby boomers changed the world, sometimes I think its more like you hit legal age and and the world adapts to accomodate you. Pop culture is so thin-sliced by age group, self identification and "self-branding" that I think we have less and less in common with one another to joke about. I know when I listen to teenagers joking, often I don't get it, or I think its so dumb I wonder why they are laughing.
They probably think the same about my jokes
